What if this even also happened in a manga adaptation? |
As katsuragi keima (The world God only knows) had once said that real world's idol will surely face the time they need to graduate or retire, it might be because of scandals or because they got older while game idols or even idols created in animation and manga can be lived into eternity. And what if such popular names mentioned above would be a character in a manga mixed with some new characters? what if real events such as the graduation announcement of Maeda Atsuko was mixed in a manga?
This can be seen in AKB49 Renai kinshi Jourei. Although there are manga done for the group, AKB49 is a Shounen Romance manga focused on a one sided love of a boy to a girl who dreamt of being an idol. What he have done was to cross dress and be part of also of the idol group. Yes, this might be seen as an awkward plot. Some boy who cross dresses can't be noticed by people watching him. But what it makes it different is how the idol group is alive in the manga. Making some popular names from the group alive in manga, with their characters known by their fans. Like how pervert Oshima Yuko in the dressing room, how addcited Watanabe Mayu to cosplay and to danso-kei(male disguise style), or even how childish matsui jurina is. It is also a manga that is much like connected to the real world events which might seem become realistic in one's fan imagination. Like the scandal that made Akimoto Sayaka go down to being a captain, The general senbatsu election, the graduation anouncement that shocked many fans or even the music videos of some song of the group.
The Graduation Announcement they all talking about |
Many would say obviously from the title itself, "its for the boys who was addicted to those girls", "its for the wotas". Well, yes your right in one aspect. But your also wrong in another. This manga is not the story of the Maeda Atsuko, Oshima Yuko, or any other girls. You know why? because fans know their story. Because what you call wotas(the real hardcore fans) know it from the start. This manga is a story of a Yoshinaga Hiroko and Urakawa Minori/Minoru.
Is this a adventure game with this enourmous quest? |
If you happen to having fun watching shows like big brother, the running man, this manga is more like a reality TV show with all the cameras chasing the characters.
Lessons, this manga was full of lessons. Well, many of it is not about being an idol. Its about how chasing dreams. Its about the hardships that needed to face to gain you dreams. There are lessons about love, love to you family, to your friends, to people who hates you and even there are lessons for those people who have a one sided love.
I recommend it for the fans who's idols in the group graduated. I recommend it for fans who just started to being a fan of the group since this would let you know some great facts and musics that might help you know them more. I would also recommend it for young women, who does have a dream similar to the dream of the girl in the manga. It would give you a closer look to this kind of industry(especially almost the the first arcs). But I also recommend it to people who does have a need to some great manga to read. It would really worth of you time reading this manga.
I would not recommend this for man hopeful to be in an idol group. Seriously, there limitation from what is real and what is not even though it might be possible. But seriously just don't do it even you have a girly like face. Just don't do it.
