Kuroko no Basuke Manga Review

Kuroko no Basuke

Since this manga ended this week, And this week also is the FIBA World Cup. This is worth having a review. and will be somewhat comparing it to the old school basketball manga, Slam Dunk

Kuroko no Basuke is a basketball inspired manga. It talks about a Basketball club that aims to be a champion and enters interhigh school competition and about a sixth man name Tetsuya Kuroko. Basically the idea is that each area in japan does have its own basketball tournament, then the champion and the 1st runner of each area would only have the chance to enter the interhighschool tournament to become the best highschool basketball club in all japan. Interhighschool tournament is much like NCAA in United States is.

Kuroko no Basuke is somewhat can be said as a modern Slam Dunk. But, the two manga really is different. The most obvious is that the rules were totally different. Slam Dunk basketball rules were the old school rules like 30 second violation, the game is divided in 2 halves and i think there was no "no charging zone" inside the paint in the manga. Kuroko no Basuke basketball rules shows the modern basketball rules, 24 second violation, game is divided into quarters and even the tournament system is different from slam dunk. The characters differ so much although some characters look the same in height and in ability.

The two basketball manga shows
its unrealistic scenes in basketball. There is the phantom kuroko, unrealistic three points of shintaro midorima, or even the unrealistic shots done by aomine. slam dunk does have also, the unbelievable jumping power of sakuragi, or how they awfully have a longer time delaying the game for just a mere trash talking of the sakuragi and the other players in court. But I think Slam Dunk is more realistic than Kuroko no Basuke. Or should I say, Kuroko is a way too unrealistic. It may also show how Japanese were not a basketball country or country that have many basketball fans. I can say this since I myself live in a basketball country. I'll show you some I've seen unrealistic.

First and foremost, Phantom Sixth Man, Tetsuya Kuroko. Kuroko is identified as a person who doesn't have an aura that people can't notice him. This is the most unrealistic, why? Let's say we are the mere audience. If you truly watch a basketball game, you would definitely notice the 10 players in court. you would really notice it. I think even your not a basketball fan, you would really see 10 players and notice kuroko in reality.

I know some players who does have the height of kuroko and they can be noticed even if they are in a pool of tall players. Here in the philippines, we have some called "the blur", since he's too fast to be seen its like your just seeing someone blurred in your eyes and what you we'll rather see is that he's already going for a shot. Just like the phantom drive of kuroko. However, He can be noticed not just by the players but as usual the audience. He won't be considered as the blur he was noticed.

Aomine's attitude is again another unrealistic. If He truly loves basketball and notices that no one can beat him in japan, He would rather not go to a japanese school but go overseas in reality. Why? Simple, you would want to go and defeat the best and be the best in the whole world. See this, even if he does have that attitude, or even if the generation of miracles does have that attitude that their the best, their school would be known in world, they would be known by other school overseas and they would really do whatever it takes to get those players. Let's just say, schools in United States, They would really go and get a tall player that can shoot halfway or the whole court. Who would not notice internationally a forward that can shoot anywhere formlessly. Or just the mere fact that murasakibara is tall even the philippines would go scout and try to get that player. Really those were the some reasons Kuroko no basuke is way too unrealistic.

All in all Kuroko no Basuke is an entertaining way of basketball manga since its a story of a underdog team. We all know that underdog team is much more entertaining than all mighty great team. This would entertain basketball fans but not as how they were entertained to Slam Dunk. If you would want to know about basketball, this manga would not that be a way to inform you of what basketball is.I think this manga would only be more enjoyable and a worth to try if you are a basketball fan.

Basketball Manga does have something in common towards its lessons, the heart to finish the game up until the very last second even you will tend to lose or you have a chance to win. they also do heartbreak games. But why became interesting is the heart to sports they love.
